Nature’s Bounty Extra Strength Hair, Skin & Nails Review

This is a review of a multi-vitamin, multi-purpose product that has been formulated by Nature’s Bounty to help improve the condition of your hair, nails and skin. Nature’s Bounty Extra Strength Hair, Skin & Nails.

It contains B vitamins to help with nergy metabolism;  Biotin which helps to maintain healthy hair; several antioxidants including Vitamin C, which is involved in collagen production and helps your skin to look vibrant; Vitamin E which also contributes to skin health; and Argan Oil, which contains a compound called tocopherol which is similar to Vitamin E, and is also said to have various other health benefits including reducing joint pain, facilitating digestion and stabilizing blood sugar/insulin levels..

Ingredients

Other ingredients: Soybean oil, gelatin, vegetable Glycerin, Soy Lecithin.

Contains 2% of: Carmine Color, Mica, Silica, Titanium Dioxide Color.

The inclusion of Argon Oil in the product indicates that it should be used with particularly caution by diabetics who are already taking medication for control of their condition. It should also be used with caution by anyone with a soy or tree nut allergy. The capsules contain a an unusually high dose of Biotin, compared to similar products. Biotin in an important B vitamin that is said to support skin and hair health, but a deficiency in Biotin is extremely rare as the body requires only small amounts daily.

Dosage

The recommended dosage is 3 softgel capsules daily, preferably with a meal.

Nature’s Bounty Extra Strength Hair, Skin & Nails Review – Conclusion

Nature’s Bounty Extra Strength Hair, Skin & Nails appears to be a good product for someone who wants to improve the state of their hair, skin and nails and does want the hassle, or the expense, of purchasing three different specialist products. On the other hand, purchasing three individual products could result in “overdosing” on the ingredients which would be common to all.

The product is relatively affordable compared to several of the specialist products we have reviewed, but we wonder whether it’s not a case of getting what you pay for. For example, it contains none of the minerals and herbs usually found in specialized hair health products.

While Nature’s Bounty claims to use ingredients from suppliers that meet its internal quality assurance standards as well as GMP supplement quality standards, and subjects its products to quality tests, it does not have any of the recognized certifications expected from quality nutritional supplements. Nevertheless, Nature’s Bounty states that its manufacturing facilities have been successfully audited by the United States Pharmacopeia and an independent dietary supplement quality evaluation firm, Specialised Technology Resources (STR), so its products should be safe to use.
