The main ingredients of the medication are; hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, magnesium stearate and a film coating, which consists of polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, talc, titanium dioxide, and iron oxides.

The 100 mg tablet contains an extra coloring additive known as FD&C yellow #6.


Pristiq is formulated in an extended release tablet for once a day dosing in 50 mg or 100 mg tablets. It is recommended that the medication be taken at the same time each day. The medication should also not be chewed or crushed.

Pristiq carries very few side effects compared to other similar prescription medications.
