Blackmores REME-D Review

This is a review of Blackmores REME-D, a supplement that has been formulated to prevent migraine attacks.

A migraine is one of the most common painful and debilitating conditions. For many individuals, a migraine attack means hiding out in a quiet, darkened room until the attack passes – in hours or even days.

There are many so-called migraine remedies on the market, most of which are designed to relieve the symptoms of a migraine, particularly the associated pain which has been associated with the constriction of blood vessels in the brain. Others are aimed at relieving both the pain and some of the associated symptoms such as nausea and sensitivity to light and sound.

Blackmores REME-D is different. This product is designed to prevent a migraine attack from happening at all.

Ingredients

  • Tanacetum parthenium (Feverfew)                                         560mg
  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)                                                              100mg
  • Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6)                                    25mg
  • Folic Acid (Vitamin B9)                                                                250ug
  • Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12)                                                 25mg
  • Magnesium protate dihydrate                                                  56.72mg

Feverfew is said to reduce inflammation and stop blood vessels from constricting. Magnesium orotate is said to help reduce the constriction of blood vessels as well. The constriction of blood vessels in and to the brain is believed to contribute to the onset of migraine headaches.

Riboflavin is essential for the metabolism of other B group vitamins. As a whole, the Vitamin B complex has been shown to have a beneficial effect on reducing the duration of pain and is widely used as an adjunct to other analgesics.

You should avoid taking Blackmores REME-D if you are allergic to the daisy family of plants.

Dosage

Take 1 tablet per day, increasing to 2 per day as required.

It’s recommended that you continue taking the tablets regularly for several months in order to achieve the full benefits.

Price

A container of 60 capsules will cost you in the region of $30.

Guarantee

The manufacturer specifies in their terms of service that they do not guarantee this product or their services. This is highly disconcerting, particularly in view of the fact that the capsules may not work effectively for several months at least.

Blackmores REME-D Review – Conclusion

Blackmores REME-D is one of the few products on the market that has been formulated to prevent the onset of a migraine attack. Most competitive products are designed to treat or relieve the symptoms of a migraine after the attack has started.

That’s the good news. However, you have to take these capsules every day for several months in order to benefit. There is no indication of exactly how long this could be for before you start to feel the benefits. So, when do you decide that it isn’t working for you? After your first migraine attack, after the second – or the third? How long should you persist, bearing in mind that the manufacturer does not guarantee the product at all.

On the upside, taking a formulation high in Vitamin B complex substances is unlikely to do you any harm, and could be beneficial for a host of other conditions, apart from migraine prevention.
