CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion Review

Read our review below about CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. This moisturizing Lotion which contains SPF 25 is said to provide UV protection and restore the protective skin barrier for all skin types including dry and sensitive skin.

Ingredients

  • Homosalate
  • Meradimate
  • Octinoxate
  • Octocrylene
  • Zinc Oxide

Homosalate and Meradimate are organic compounds which prevent direct skin exposure to the sun’s harmful rays by absorbing ultraviolet (UV) light and provides protection against cold sores, sunburn, and premature aging. Octinoxate as the ability to absorb UV rays. Octocrylene makes sunscreens water-resistant. Zinc Oxide protects against UVA and UVB light rays, prevent burns, and signs of photoaging and irritation.

This product contains patented scientifically-identified essential ceramides. But it might not be effective as it lacks a synergistic blend of ingredients for daily use such as Sweet Almond oil, and Shea Butter oil as well as clinically proven key ingredients.

Clinically proven ingredients should contain at least 10% active ingredients with a minimum of 5 patented ingredients such as vitamin E and C, which contains rich antioxidant algae for conditioning and protecting the skin from free radicals that cause premature aging.

The formula should also contain wheat extract, a medical grade silicone which provides a protective layer to seal in moisture, as well as Beta-Glucan, (a highly active yeast) used to revitalize the skin and enhance the natural repair processes in the damaged skin.

Directions

This pump action lotion has to be applied 15 minutes before sun exposure and has to be reapplied every two hours. A water-resistant sunscreen should be used if the user is swimming or sweating, if the user is a child under the age of six months, a doctor should be consulted. For a facial skin care regimen, the user should cleanse the face with the manufacturer’s cleanser and then apply this product. This product should be protected from excessive heat and direct sun.

The directions are rather confusing, should an additional water-resistant sunscreen be used if the user is swimming or sweating or should this product be used?

Price

The price of a 3-ounce pump bottle is $12.15 may be bought online through a third-party retailers website, there is a discount available if the consumer subscribes to the third-party retailer’s website as well as a 15% discount if more than 5 products are purchased.

Guarantee

The manufacturer does not offer a guarantee and states that because this product is bought through third-party retailers, the consumer will have to adhere to the third-party retailers guarantee policy.

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion Review – Conclusion

This product seems to be easily obtainable and comes with a reasonable price, as the third-party retailer does offer discounts to subscribed members as well as items bought in bulk. However, the lack of clinically proven active ingredients which will provide optimal soothing, moisturizing, hydration, prevention, and revitalization is omitted from this lotion. The directions are rather confusing, and the manufacturer does not offer the user any kind of guarantee. All these facts cause us to wonder how effective this product really is?
