Herb Pharm Turmeric Review

In this Herb Pharm Turmeric review, we see how the preservation of organic purity may play a role in the overall efficiency of the product. The manufacturer formulated this product while keeping natural extraction as their main goal while combining a blend of turmeric ( Curcuma longa root) extract to actively recuperate the immune system and encourage a healthy inflammatory response.

Each vegetarian soft gel contains:

  • Turmeric (Curcuma longa) root – 200 mg
  • Turmeric Root Supercritical extract- 25mg
  • Black Pepper extract (Piper nigrum)- 5 mg

The Certified Organic Turmeric (Curcuma longa) root is water extracted and consists of 20 mg of curcuminoids are responsible for detoxing the body, which enables a stronger immune system. The supercritical extract provides 12 mg of turmerones, which are the major components of the turmeric rhizome essential oils which work together with the curcuminoids to benefit the health of joints and inflammatory responses by suppressing the proteins which prolong inflammation.

The manufacturer has not mentioned the percentage of the concentrate of the curcuminoids. Black Pepper extract which may prove to be ineffective at 5 mg, as leading brands have a 20 mg serving.

Other Ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • Beeswax
  • Sunflower Lecithin
  • Vegetable Glycerin
  • Sorbitol
  • Caramel color
  • Carrageenan (from seaweed)
  • Modified corn starch (capsule)
  • Purified water

Sorbitol, which is a sweetener known to be used as a laxative together with Carrageenan which is a food additive may pose a threat to the overall function of the product as a dietary supplement.

1 soft gel is recommended to be taken 1 or 2 times per day, with meals. Those pregnant or nursing should inform a qualified medical practitioner prior to use. Due to the fact that the serving size of active ingredient is only 300 mg, we feel that dosage is too low as the customer will lack a necessary 400 mg because 1000 mg may be taken per day.

A container of 60 softgels is available for purchase at retailers or online at $28.00. Shipping rates are discounted or nullified depending on the value of the buyer’s purchase. The website seems to host seasonal specials.

The manufacturer’s Returns Policy states that replacement or refund is eligible should you notify them of your dissatisfaction within 7 days after your purchase, where a return authorization number will be issued to you. The state in which the product needs to be returned in (still in original packaging etc) is not mentioned. We see this as a downside as leading brands have a 365-day money back guarantee.

Herb Pharm Turmeric Review – Conclusion

We like that all the extracts and ingredients are certified organic and that the manufacturer has made a vegan and vegetarian-friendly blend. We do, however, have concerns as to the use of additives in the ingredients of the product which may stunt the performance of the product. Herb Pharm Turmeric has also failed to mention the concentration of curcuminoids, which need to be at a potency of 95% to be at optimum efficiency. Black Pepper extract requires a serving of 20 mg whereas in this product it is poorly supplied in 5 mg. We also feel that a 7-day guarantee is way too short a period for customers. These facts together with the compromised dosage prohibit us from advising anyone to try this product.
